Not the pitch — the actual day to day. Who cleans what, how repairs get handled, what happens on trash night. Worth reading before you decide, and worth bookmarking after you move in.
Every house has its own Slack workspace, and it's how the house actually runs. Whose week it is on the cleaning rotation. Cleaner coming Wednesday. Garbage night tomorrow, take your bins out. Something needs fixing. It all goes in one place instead of five separate group texts.
You'll get your invite when you move in. Anything urgent — water, heat, or something unsafe — call us instead.
Repairs, appliances, the lawn, the snow, the utility accounts, the internet — ours. You look after your own bedroom and take your week on the common-area checklist. That's the whole deal.
Nobody chases anybody for a share of a bill, because there are no shared bills.
Each housemate takes a week on the shared checklist — kitchen, bathrooms, common areas. The schedule is posted in Slack a rotation ahead, so you always know when your week is.
A cleaner comes monthly for the shared spaces on top of the rotation. You'll see a heads-up in Slack the day before. Your bedroom is yours to keep.
Guests are welcome. We just ask that everyone be considerate of housemates when sharing the common spaces.
Slackbot reminds the house the evening before pickup. Bins out, recycling sorted, common areas checked.
Bedrooms have digital keypad locks. You set your own code when you move in and you can change it whenever you like.
Everyone gets their own designated spot in the driveway. No jockeying, no blocking anyone in.
Water, heat, or anything unsafe — call, don't post in Slack. (231) 830-5157.
